Gustav Klimt and Ernst Klimt created Hanswurst Delivering an Impromptu Performance in Rothenburg (1886–1888), which was reworked by Gustav Klimt after Ernst Klimt’s death and sold at Sotheby’s Old Master & 19th Century Evening Auction in London for £2.2 million ($2.8 million). The work originated as a decorative panel for the Burgtheater and features Hanswurst in a market scene with portraits of their family integrated by Gustav. The painting’s price was reported as £2.2 million ($2.8 million).
