Recognized Certification. Instruments attributed to Antonio Stradivari, Giuseppe Guarneri “del Gesù,” and other important makers should be supported by certification from an internationally recognized expert whose opinion is accepted in the relevant market.

Transparent Condition. A current condition report should provide a clear account of repairs, restoration, alterations, and any structural concerns affecting the instrument.

Exceptional Musical Quality. Sound, responsiveness, projection, balance, and playability should be consistent with the calibre and intended use of the instrument.

Controlled Market Exposure. We favour instruments that are privately held or have been presented selectively, with any previous offering, auction appearance, or broader circulation disclosed.

Sufficient Documentation. Provenance, ownership history, photographs, measurements, certificates, restoration records, and relevant sale information should permit a meaningful initial assessment.

Clear Authority. Owners and representatives should be able to establish ownership or their authority to act.

Direct Access. We seek direct communication with the principal or duly authorized decision-maker wherever practical.

Readiness to Proceed. The relevant parties should have the authority, financial capacity, and practical ability to advance the proposed transaction.

Appropriate for Private Sale. The instrument and circumstances should be suited to selective presentation, controlled disclosure, specialist examination, private trials, and confidential negotiation.

Credible Pricing. Price expectations should reflect the maker, period, model, certification, condition, musical qualities, provenance, rarity, previous market exposure, and relevant market evidence.

Practical Readiness. The available documentation, proposed terms, and arrangements for insurance, examination, trial, transport, and closing should be sufficiently developed for the matter to advance efficiently.
